Recital Reminder Dates and other information
The upcoming Winter Recitals are set as follows:
Saturday, December 11th @ 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, Sturgeon Bay
Sunday, December 12th @ 2:00 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Egg Harbor
You may choose either recital date to participate in if one of the dates works better for you. Please let me know which recital you plan on attending. Recital dress is semi-formal attire, no tennis shoes or jeans. All students are asked to perform in a winter recital and we will be discussing which music would be most prepared as we get closer to the recital date. Music does not need to be memorized. We will be putting together some group Christmas Carols to be performed on the recital. These will be fun and easy and an opportunity to play for fun in a larger group.
Recital arrival time: Please try to arrive for the recital at 1:15 p.m. for a quick group rehearsal. Parents can drop-off child at the earlier time and return shortly before 2:00 p.m. for the official start time. If you own a music stand, please bring it along to the recital.
Spring Music Festival: The Spring Music Festival details are in preparation. Please save Saturday, April 9th on your calendar as the tentative date for the Festival. For those who are new to the Spring Music Festival, it is a chance for students to play for a judge and receive written and verbal comments on their playing. This year's festival will include strings and piano and there will be a small entrance fee to participate. All performers will receive a participation medal for playing. More on the festival in January, 2011! The festival is optional, but highly encouraged!
Evaluations: Your child will be receiving an evaluation of his/ her progress so far sometime in December early January. This will be e-mailed to you.
