Recital Details

Hello everyone!

The recital weekend is coming up quickly! Just a reminder that both recitals are at 1:00 p.m. Please plan on staying for the entire recital. We learn so much from watching others play. Below are a few more details:

Concert Dress: Please dress nicely, no jeans or tennis shoes.

Getting Ready: A warm-up room will be available prior to the recital. All students will be sitting with their parents during the recital and will be called up to perform.

Music Stands: We are in need of some students to bring a music stand if you have one at home. We will need these extra stands for the Group Christmas Caroling at the end of the recital (newer students may not be ready to play these carols, don't worry, you can play them next year!). A music stand would come in handy for warming up prior to the recital too.

Arriving: The church will be open about 30 minutes prior to the recital. Unless I have asked you to come earlier, please plan on arriving sometime between 12:30-12:45 p.m. the day of the recital.

Concert Program Notes: For all recitals there is a concert program showing all the performers' names and the songs in the order that they will be played. This recital I am asking students to prepare a sentence or two about the song(s) they are performing. Include what the student likes about the piece and/or what they find challenging. These "Program Notes" will be printed in the program (not announced out loud) and will offer the audience a little information about the songs that are being played. Please prepare your concert program notes and get them to me no later than next Thursday, December 8th. They can be hand written (handed in at last lesson prior to recital) or e-mailed to me at: loriben@sbcglobal.net.

Please feel free to contact me with any other questions you might have. Looking forward to the Winter Recital!
This e-mail message will also be on the blog for future reference: www.tuttistrings.blogspot.com.

Sincerely,
Lori Meyer
